PATIENT CARE. EDUCATION. PATIENT ADVOCACY
Welcome
The American Association of Heart Failure Nurses (AAHFN) has launched its first Patient Education Program. This website is designed to serve as a resource patients for anyone who wants an in depth understanding of heart failure.
Please review our concise, educational and reference materials which covers all aspects of heart failure including recommended preventative self-care measures. As a national leader in heart failure education and patient advocacy, AAHFN believes that it is crucial to get this information out to anyone who needs more information on heart failure.
“We, at AAHFN, acknowledge the remaining gaps between knowledge and practice regarding optimal evidence-based therapies for heart failure patients. We wish to facilitate a true understanding of this potentially devastating condition as well as the available therapies and preventative measures that can offer improved quality of life and a better life expectancy for heart failure patients. This knowledge, paired with the care of a heart failure certified nurse, is vital to improving patient outcomes and to promoting sustainability within hospital and outpatient care settings,” says AAHFN President, Vera Barton-Caro.
